Bombay burning, MILK and Verizon looting me

My heart goes out to Bombay. What was the coast guard doing? Speaks volumes about the lack of security at the hotels, Chabad house, the metro. This has taken too long. Congress I will be seen soft on terror yet again.

Watching MILK at the historic Castro theatre on the 30th anniversity of the event, 30 years on, it's still hard - won't be easier until we have serious dents in religiosity.

Verizon - I have been a sticky customer for years and was happy. I really thought this was a company going places. All of this changed when I decided to try the data plan from verizon - they fail to tell you they do not offer an "Unlimited" plan; they fail to tell you they charge you everytime you try to connect which in my case averages 432KB. I am still waiting for a callback to explain the charges on my bill, my roaming usage which I did only on 2 occasions[when I landed in Cochin airport and before I left at Chennai airport] each of which was under 2 minutes on my India visit. The bill doesn't show the details. I was promised a callback. But it has been more than 72 hours. Perhaps Verizon is distracted with the alltel merger whose customers might actually welcome better service than what they are used to - but at the cost of customers like me.

PJ, this comment will no doubt seem rather petty in comparison to your discussion of the violence in India. Therefore I'll keep it short and to the point.

I have Verizon Wireless too and have been upset by overly large bills and a seemingly impossibly complex bureaucracy to break through in order to make changes to or inquire about my plan. In other words, I hear where you're coming from. When I read what you're dealing with in terms of Verizon, I though I'd recommend checking out a service called Validas that helped me effectively deal with Verizon. Through the Validas website, www.fixmycellbill.com, I was able to slash my bill by $230 per year (equating to roughly a free month of service per year for me). I was so impressed with the results Validas got for me that I joined the company when the opportunity arose.

Validas works analyzing your uploaded online cell bill to determine how much money you could be saving on your plan. Up to this point everything is free. If you choose, Validas provides a highly detailed and personalized cell bill adjustment report that, for $5, is emailed to your wireless provider in industry specific format so you can actually implement these cash saving changes to your plan. If Validas can save you more than $5 on your bill (apparently the average customer saves $491 annually through Validas), this obviously provides a cost effective remedy for reducing cellular expenses.

Best of luck reducing your wireless costs, and here's hoping everything turns out well in India.
