Now for a volte face on Jhumpa Lahiri's Unaccustomed Earth

I persevered past the initial "doesn't seem promising", "move on" vibes I got off the slow first story in the collection. By the end of the first story, I was hooked, I finished the book in one sitting after that - mind you, I am quite a fast reader. But I could relate to these people, situations, vividly, in images - this book would make a good movie too.
