Aung's house arrest continues - where's the international pressure?

Embargos haven't affected decision makers for sure. Where's the international act?

turkey day, holidays

Merely depressing. I shall exert myself to feel socially connected by reminiscing past perfunctory err.. actually ginger laden cranberry sauce and curried stuffing and just the crisp shavings please. Vicariously yours.

iconoclasts

Genuine freewheeling feel to the Iconoclasts episodes so far on sundance.

Bowling and curling hopefully for the last time in Tundra - i can't help wondering how i survived my 3 winters here! Gosh - I must have been so caught up in coping, not realizing I was really coping! Ever so often,I catch myself in too much excitement in sunny CA with such AWESOME people around:-)

P-tree Patent

At long last - but timely given the nano/bio applications. For the uninitiated, it's Dr.Perrizo's life's work.

Prosthetic arms, cyborgs and molecular computing..

the classic image - teen years of this century - u see me fidgeting about my wrist - i then calculate as good as the computer on your knees - i fidget again - this time i can pick up specific notes i only knew existed, listening to 'Death and the maiden' - i fidget again - back to the dumb today me.

Ray Kurzweil - The Singularity is Near

Finally caught up listening to the talk - the voice quality takes a little getting used to.. worth the effort.

F-O-C-U-S

Buffet's losses

Buffet's losses are mostly hurricane related, but sure does raise the question - are we in the ebb of another down cycle?

Friday blues and stalled times

Can't kick the week out yet - one of those week and weekends, I and all my selves, are cohabiting the eternal couch that seems to be my life now. At what point does the problem cease to capture the imagination - boredom or the closeness to the solution?

Shotgun beer can opener is the friday gadget high -low tech moment.

ebaying it, Flickring, counting ads, orkutting low, kazaa riaaed, 'nano' TMed on an ipod, failing fiber under the indian ocean - can't hear on vonage - no real tangible tech tickles lately - the aha moment has been the British scientists going low tech on a mass producible malarial solution, the nets.

On another vein, signature pieces take their time as in Shirley Fintz's signature piece -

Sometimes you hit it early and the next turn is forever - as in Currin's Thanksgiving piece - this one's Americana.

Put out the light - and then put out the light

That's Othello. White alabaster, latch keys, scarves, let go. Thermals - be it in the skies i fly in or closer to the ground where I walk - aren't we all about adaptation? Improvisation?

p.s wonder what google ad gets cycled this post around?!
